Treat Day for Unpaid Carers - Monday 2nd March,10:15am – 2pm
Are you providing unpaid care for an ill, frail or disabled family member, friend, or partner who is unable to manage without your support? The annual Treat Day for Unpaid Carers returns for 2026, on Monday 2nd March at Burgess Hill Girls.
Running 10.15am – 2pm, there will be pampering treatments, such as a variety of massages, manicures, as well as both a hairdresser and barber offering quick trims. There will be relaxing breathing sessions with a qualified Yoga instructor and a reflexologist. Other activities will include a colour expert to offer fashion advice, a florist to help you design a beautiful bouquet to take away, in addition to a selection of crafts.
Relevant information services will also be in attendance and available to chat to, including Carers Support, West Sussex Young Carers and the NHS Carers Health Team. St Peter and St James Hospice and the Prevention Assessment Team will also be attending.
Lunch will be provided by the school and whilst you are tucking in, the students will be providing musical entertainment!
It is free to attend but carers must register in advance. Bookings open on 2nd February, please call 01444 247726 or visit the Help Point at 96 Church Walk to book your space.
PLEASE NOTE:-We will be booking treatments in advance of your arrival on the event. During the booking process you will be asked your 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice treatments/appointment, with a view to everyone being booked into 1, hopefully 2, of the preferred choices. Please do ensure you choose three different appointment types (i.e. not all massages) to ensure we can accommodate your preferences.-If the person you care for is an adult and you are unable to find alternative care for the duration of the event, you are able to bring the person you care for along to the event. Please be aware that they will only receive treatments if there are spaces available on the day, as ensuring all carers are allocated treatments will take priority. Lunch will be provided to all attendees and they will also be able to enjoy the entertainment and the drop-in activities. Unfortunately, children cannot be accommodated at this event.-There is no parking available on site – the nearest car parks are by the station. There will be very limited disabled bays available. Attendees are advised to ‘park and stride’ where possible.-Burgess Hill residents and those from the surrounding villages will be given priority booking, and those from wider afield, should there be availability, will be allocated spaces the week prior to the event
